Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 June 2026. Valley Skips (trading as Valley Skips) is the data controller for the information you give us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR.

1. What we collect

  • Booking details, your name, phone number, email, delivery address and postcode, chosen skip size, delivery date and any notes you add about the waste or access.
  • Payment information, processed securely by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number; we receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded and a transaction reference.
  • Enquiry details, anything you send us by the contact form, the chat assistant, email or phone.
  • Technical data, basic, non-identifying information such as the pages you visit, used to keep the site working and secure.

2. How we use it

  • To take and fulfil your booking, deliver and collect your skip, and arrange any council permit.
  • To take payment and issue your receipt and VAT invoice.
  • To contact you about your booking, including your delivery window.
  • To meet our legal duty-of-care and waste-carrier record-keeping obligations.
  • To answer your questions and improve our service.

3. Our lawful bases

We process your data to perform our contract with you (your booking), to comply with legal obligations (waste transfer notes, tax records), and for our legitimate interests in running and securing the business. Where we ever rely on consent, such as optional marketing, you can withdraw it at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with the providers that help us deliver the service, and only what they need:

  • Stripe, to process card payments securely.
  • Our booking and accounting tools, to record the job, raise your invoice and keep waste-carrier records.
  • Our email provider, to send your receipt and booking confirmation.
  • The relevant local council, where a road permit is required for your skip.

We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

5. How long we keep it

We keep booking and transaction records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our legal obligations, including tax and waste duty-of-care records, which are typically retained for up to seven years. After that we delete or anonymise the data.

6. Where your data is held

Your data is held on secure systems within the UK or other regions covered by appropriate UK data-protection safeguards. Our suppliers are bound to protect it to UK standards.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

8. Cookies

We keep cookies to a minimum. The site uses only essential cookies needed to make booking and security work, plus our payment provider's cookies during checkout. We do not run advertising trackers.
