Local delivery & permits in Oxford
Oxford has a significant number of conservation areas and streets where off-road parking is impossible, so road placement permits are often required. Those permits are issued by Oxfordshire County Council, not Oxford City Council, which surprises many customers. We apply for the permit on your behalf, but allow two to three working days for the county council to approve it before your delivery date.
Because Oxford is just 18 miles from our depot in Faringdon, we can usually offer within 1–2 working days delivery. We cover the whole town and the surrounding area.
National skip brokers rarely know which Oxford streets sit inside a conservation area or where permit turnaround times run longest. We deal with Oxfordshire County Council permit applications regularly and can flag access issues around the city's narrow Victorian terraces before we arrive.
Local recycling: Oxford has a household waste recycling centre on the Redbridge Park and Ride site off the Southern Bypass, operated by Oxfordshire County Council, where residents can take materials that cannot go into a skip.

Skip hire Oxford, FAQs
Do I need a permit for a skip on a street in Jericho or the city centre?
Yes. Most roads in central Oxford, including streets around Jericho and near the Radcliffe Camera, are public highway, so a skip permit is required. The permit comes from Oxfordshire County Council. We apply for it as part of the booking, but allow at least two to three working days before you need the skip delivered.
Can you deliver a skip to a house on Cowley Road or East Oxford?
Yes, we cover the whole of OX4 including Cowley Road, Iffley Road and the streets off them. Many properties there have no off-road parking, so we would need to place the skip on the road with a permit. If you have a driveway or private forecourt, no permit is needed and we can often deliver the next day.
